Metz active on loan market and summer preparation
FC Metz confirmed on Monday the loan of Yannis Lawson to RFC Seraing until the end of the season. The 21-year-old left-back, who joined last summer, leaves the Lorraine club in search of playing time. This decision comes as Metz sits 18th in Ligue 1 with 15 points after 29 games (3 wins, 6 draws, 20 losses).
Why this loan for Lawson?
Lawson, trained at Seraing, failed to establish himself in Luc Holtz's squad. The young player, who has only played a few games this season, returns to Belgium to gain experience. A strategic choice for Metz, which is betting on the player's future while optimizing its squad.
Summer preparation schedule
The Grenats also announced a mini-camp in the Vosges, in Gérardmer, from July 16 to 22. Before that, the team will play a friendly against Seraing this Friday at Frescaty (5 PM). The full schedule includes matches against Sochaux (July 22) and Fortuna Sittard (July 25).
Autograph session and other news
Four Metz players, including Giorgi Abuashvili and Jean Ruiz, will be signing autographs at Metz Plage this Wednesday. Additionally, former forward Lucie Calba left Nantes for Fleury 91 after a successful season (14 goals).
Metz's next official match is scheduled for February 19, 2027, at home against Montpellier.
