FC Metz has appointed Luc Holtz as new coach for two seasons. Former professional player, he has 25 years of experience on the bench. Holtz has a proven track record of success, having led Etzella Ettelbruck to promotion from D2 to D1 and then taking charge of the Luxembourg national team. In his 15 years with the national team, he has significantly improved the country's performance, making them more competitive and credible. He has also led the team to several high-level performances, including a 0-0 draw against France in 2017. Holtz has also successfully led the team to the Euro 2024 qualifying round. During his tenure, he has achieved 33 wins, making him the most successful coach in the country's history. In August 2025, he decided to take on a new challenge by joining the German championship and SV Waldhof Mannheim. Holtz will be accompanied by his trusted assistant, Mario Mutsch. Mutsch is well-known on the Moselle region, having played for FC Metz for two seasons (2009-2011). Throughout his career, the new coach has always defended a courageous, ambitious, and disciplined style of football.
